No matter how small the business is, no one is exempt from the vast array of human resources requirements in California, or anywhere else for that matter. But small businesses may not have a huge HR department of experts, or even an HR manager. Anna Popovici, founder, and CEO of Silicon Valley Human Resource Solution, helps small companies navigate through the complex, sometimes contradictory HR management requirements.

“Small companies rarely need full-time HR support, but often their requirements come in bursts, e.g. in the shape of a compensation review, benefits renewal, or other self-contained project. In the cases where they have regular, on-going tasks these can be completed by us on a part-time, hourly basis.”

Silicon Valley Human Resource Solution offers HR consulting services addressing a wide range of HR management needs. Some typical areas that their services cover are:

  • The initial set-up of HR departments, as well as audit and review of current policies and procedures.
  • Employee interviews and satisfaction surveys, including recommendations for management.
  • HR projects related to performance management, global employee benefits, on-boarding, employee engagement, company culture, and employee relations
  • Advice before, during, and after mergers and acquisitions.

Many of Silicon Valley Human Resource Solution’s clients are in High Tech or Life Sciences but most companies’ have fairly similar HR related matters so Anna Popovici helps clients from all kinds of industries.

“I always suggest having an initial meeting with a new client to determine what they need assistance with. I can engage with them on a project basis, or on an hourly basis. After the meeting, I follow up with a written proposal.”

Anna Popovici has held many executive-level positions within HR and her experience includes mergers & acquisitions, global HR, benefits, compensation, employment law, employee relations, training, talent acquisition and HR Information Systems. She is also bilingual – and bicultural. She was born in southern Florida by Swedish parents and brought up in Luleå in the northernmost parts of Sweden, not far from the arctic circle. She later moved to Stockholm and graduated from Stockholm University with a B.S. in Economics and a B.S. in Finance. Studies at UC Berkeley brought her to California in 1994. Thanks to the culture and the pleasant weather she is still here, living in South Bay with her husband, their three teenagers, a dog, three guinea pigs, and four chickens!

Anna Popovici joined the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce to get in touch with other small business owners in the Bay Area that have a connection to Sweden. Please do not hesitate to reach out to her at info@svhrs.com if you have any HR related questions.
