The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in San Francisco & Silicon Valley will be part of launching a new platform Nordic-U.S. Food Innovation that will be held on November 11th-15th, 2021 to bridge startups, investors, and industry leaders from the Nordics and Silicon Valley devoted to building a sustainable food system during a 5-day summit. The summit is a collaboration between SACC-SF/SV, Business Sweden,  Business Finland, Business Iceland, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, and Björn Öste, founder of Oatly.

The intention behind the summit is to promote a market for sustainable food- and Ag solutions.

A market which is booming with investors actively seeking to fund startups with sustainable missions. After Oatly’s impressive IPO and public market debut on Nasdaq, U.S. food investors are specifically on the hunt for the next generation of Nordic food startups! The summit is created to help facilitate these investor connections and to highlight the latest food innovation coming out of the Nordics with potential to scale globally.

The Summit is primarily designed to connect Nordic food and ag startups seeking capital and expansion support with U.S. investors and industry resources. Anyone active in the sustainable food space who is interested in connecting with like-minded startups, investors, and industry leaders across the Atlantic can join. There are four different participation options so anyone who is interested in joining has an opportunity!

Nordic-U.S. Food Summit will include 5 days with network welcoming, Nordic startup pitches, wine testing with West Wines, Chartered bus from SF to Sweet Farm, Introduction to Venture Catalyst, UC Davis’ international soft-landing program Food- & AgTech Startups and the agenda is subject to change and will be updated continuously with more details.

The goal for the summit is to connect great Nordic startups with the capital and resources they need to scale their amazing innovation across the U.S. and beyond! For U.S. investors, it aims to make introductions to fantastic investment opportunities (and hopefully the next Oatly)! Lastly, we hope to inspire companies, policy makers, and students to collectively work towards a more sustainable food system globally.
